Little Acorn: an autumn studio update

Autumn 2026 has been incredibly busy in the best possible way! If you've been following along, you'll know I've been moving between exhibitions, progressing paintings I started during the summer, and officially launching my new online shop.

Here is a little look behind the scenes at what’s been happening in the studio.

Out and About: Recent Exhibitions

I recently participated in two visual arts exhibitions: one at Hughenden Manor in Buckinghamshire, and another at the Wooburn Festival.

These shows were such an uplifting opportunity to get my brand-new seascape series out into the world. It was wonderful to meet fellow artists and take inspiration from their work, chat with art lovers, and enjoy some all-important print sales at Hughenden! One of the highlights was having Mum (86) travel all the way to Wooburn Green from North Wales to see the show, accompanied by my wonderful sister.

When preparations were is in full swing, framing and mounting overflowed into the living room in organised chaos, somehow coming together just in time.

What’s Next on the Agenda

There is no slowing down just yet because I have two more exhibitions coming up:

  • The Buckinghamshire Art Society Show (End of October): I am currently back in the studio finishing two paintings I started on location over the summer. One is a seascape featuring St Nicholas Chapel in St Ives, and the other is a landscape capturing the recent Solar Eclipse at Coombe Hill, Wendover on August 12th.

  • The Berkhamsted Art Society Exhibition (November): I haven't quite decided which pieces to submit for this one yet - I'm considering some landscapes from the new Wales series I began over the summer, if I can finish them in time….

The Online Shop is Live!

In between all the exhibition prep, I officially launched my online shop for fine art prints and originals on 2 October.

I am absolutely delighted with how the first week has gone. My first week’s website stats show 100 unique visitors, 6 new Studio Friends community sign-ups, and 2 sales (which I just heard have safely arrived with their new owners!).

In a world where things can frequently go wrong, it is incredibly special when everything goes just right. I am so grateful for the wonderful support from my friends and family, and to my brilliant printing partners at theprintspace, who handled the fulfilment superbly to ensure the prints arrived in perfect condition.

Receiving this feedback truly made my week:

"A joyful time unpacking it… the print is superb, really good quality from a beautiful painting… I am honestly delighted. I have bought art prints from artists before and this is one of the best from ordering to unpacking." - Jenny, Burnley ‍ ‍

A Thank You Giveaway: Win an Original Painting

To thank everyone for helping me plant this little acorn of a business, I’m running a special giveaway.

I am automatically enrolling the first 100 sign-ups to my Studio Friends community into a prize draw to win an original painting: Bluebells at Wendover Woods.

So, if you know anyone who loves art, and who might like this painting, please share this post with them! They’ll have a 1-in-100 chance of winning a piece of original art, and you’ll be helping my little acorn to grow.
